HCL Technologies (HCL), a leading global technology company, today announced a multi-year contract with Hitachi ABB Power Grids, the pioneer in renewable, electronic energy options, to create a brand new greenfield digital base as part of a worldwide transformation program.
HCL can help Hitachi ABB Power Grids set a new, efficient, and contemporary independent IT business through this participation. The participation will encourage its continuing business transformation by reducing dependence on the historical ABB IT services infrastructure.
Hitachi ABB Power Grids was shaped in 2020 as a joint venture between Hitachi and ABB to make a new global leader in pioneering energy and electronic technologies. Included in this new digital base, HCL provides Hybrid Cloud Services, Digital Workplace Services, Next-gen Network Services, Unified Service Management, and Cybersecurity Services.

Hitachi ABB Power Grids recognized that HCL was best positioned to develop from scratch on a brand new Digital Foundation that could satisfy its strategic aims to induce simplicity, speed, and scalability during its international operations. HCL will establish tactical electronic programs, worldwide standardization of IT providers, and future-proof options to help keep pace with changing business demands and evolving technologies.
As a pioneering technology pioneer, we are digitalizing the whole energy value chain to earn the planet’s power grids more powerful, brighter, and greener. It is vital that this transformation also involves our internal operations and the solutions we produce for our customers, explained Michael Loechle, CIO, Hitachi ABB Power Grids.
We knew we had to break away from the historical IT organization we had inherited. HCL was a great strategic partner to assist us in producing a next-generation working model. We’re incredibly impressed with HCL’s capacity to make high-quality and finish user-focused options for our workers and extend an end-to-end design to ensure smooth execution.
HCL’s track record for attracting a culture of innovation to support delivery will ensure we are well-positioned to enjoy the sustainable and long-term advantages of digitalization.
We are eager to use Hitachi ABB Power Grids to create a brand new individual Digital IT environment. HCL will deliver its own experience in executing complex carve-out applications for the latest electronic world, said Pankaj Tagra, Corporate Vice President and Nordic and DACH Head, HCL Technologies.
The chance to construct a fresh Digital Foundation for this significant worldwide business is a testament to our clients’ hope in HCL’s next-generation transformational experience.
